which program should i be using to crop video files?

i ask because I am designing in 3D Studio Max with an image background from Photoshop, but, i dont want the whole background...

i am not aware of a way of doing this in 3DSMax, so i am saving an AVI in the same dimensions as my background, which is larger than necesary.

any help is gratefully recieved

Yup its actually an effect that can be applied to your clips. (I use premiere pro 1.5 btw)

go to video effects and then go to transform and u shud see crop there. drag it over your clip on the timeline and handles shud appear in the monitor pane.

just drag :)
