I received a cool animation from one of my friends in the e-mail: bert.ultralab.net/iso/ (http://bert.ultralab.net/iso/) It is really cool and reminds me of the dubit.co.uk or habbohotel days.
Cheers,

Hey pez,
I *think* it does support multiple users. I have not seen it yet, but I will ask a few of my friends on AIM to get on and test it out.
Cheers!

It works, it supports multiple users... I just got about 4 of us in there...
I assume it was created in shockwave rather than in flash.... anyone mind telling me how the hell I would go about making something like that!?

Hey pez,
The animation is created entirely in Flash. I have no idea how it works, but I am sure it took a lot of time and programming skills :)

K-
Do you know of any Flash chat applets like that one that can be used or are being leased or sold for reasonable prices?

hmm, I have no clue. I have no idea how much one would be willing to sell this chat thing for. From the amount of work, probably an arm and a leg. I'm sure you have plenty of arms and legs to spare phil :)
Cheers!

Kirupa-
Reasonable! Reasonable is not in the ballpark of an arm or a leg. NEXT!

It is stupidly good, I still dont know how it'd be done in flash, I have a good idea how its done in shockwave because that runs a server style applet so that more users can be added too it. I'm sure its not possible in flash! Its just too confusing for my head!

Theres a little isometric plane, with trees and rocks, and you have a little man who you can walk around the screen, and you can chat on it. Other people can also join into the same area (which is what I dont understand can be done in flash).

XML socket I would suppose. That's a very easy way of hooking different comps together for a chat system.
I did get it to load finaly here at home. Have a feeling the work firewalls were screwing things up.

For a more advanced version of this, everyone please visit: www.dubit.co.uk (http://www.dubit.co.uk) That is the ultimate in Flash based movement/interaction/chatting!

Now that's very cool. Could make an excellent role playing game.
