Hi. Can anyone tell me what the difference between an ISO image file and a .BIN image file is? I've got Nero and I've got a .BIN file which should contain some video but I'm not quite sure how to use it. I know I need to burn it but which options in Nero should I use?
When I drag a .ISO file into my compilation, Nero launches the image burner. But with a .BIN file, it just seems to want to burn a data CD with that file on it.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

you need a .cue file with .bin file. do image burn and burn the cue and it will actually point nero to burn the bin file. if you dont have a cue file for it then find one for something else and edit it in notepad, its really simple. hope this helps

OK thanks but I can't find any CUE files. I know what you mean but I must have deleted them after I burnt various things.
Do you (or anybody else) have any CUE files you can send me (I'm assuming they're small if you just edit them in Notepad)?? Or just paste the lines of code I need to put into a Notepad file?
Thanks

Get WinISO convert the BIN into ISO then burn it.

a .cue file is just a text file. It looks something like this:
FILE "IMAGE.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
just replace the "IMAGE.BIN" with the name of your bin file, and save the .cue file with the same filename (except with a .cue extension, of course)

I've downloaded ISOBUSTER but when I open my BIN file, all I see is "Track 1" beside a CD icon as it's contents and doubleclicking on that just brings up a context menu for it with different extract options. All of which either just create an identical BIN file or just don't work at all!

All you need to do is burnt the bin with Nero and it works perfectly, select burn image and select the bin a few mins and you have a working cd, another tool for images is Daemon tools it lets you open any image as a virtual drive good stuff ;)

Yeah Daemon Tools are great for that :beam:
I have most of my games (the ones I actually play) stored as cue/bin files, as I tend to loose my game cd's in my mess :sure: much easier to just rightclick->select file-->play :P
