trouble installing AIM

i opened AIM today to sign in and after i signed in there was a pop up saying there is a new version of AIM and asked if i want to upgrade it,i clicked yes
after downloading the new version it doesnt work
it installs fine but when i sign in it stays in the connecting part of sign in
i uninstalled it and installed the previous version of it and then this one does the same too
it was working fine today until it asked for upgrade
anyone know of how to fix it?

... remove the AIM folder, could of left files behind that are causeing the problem.

All I know is that AOL is evil, that would make AIM a demon on my comp...:m:

Gaim is a free alternative AIM client (I use it all the time, it's cool)

uninstalled it > cleared al the files>reinstalled it
and itr worked

i still recomend u use gaim or trillian, gaims free, plus, both of them have no ads, (trillian has the capability of actually looking sweet), also both of them have the capability of signing on with more then one screenanme, and more then one messanger (MSN, AIM, Y!, ect). Much better.
