Halo movie rumor is true!

It's official... the rumor of the smash hit video game becoming a movie is now true. Universal and Fox pictures tied the deal and nows it official...

I really don't know if this is a smart move by Bungie... but it says they'll be putting strict limits on it, so hopefully it'll stay true to the game! Post some thoughts!

of course the RE movies sucked, and so will AITD, I saw the trailer.. it has NOTHING to do with the AITD series, just another monster movie...

i played halo for about 7 months straight but never once played the actuall game, just the xbox live stuff.

If your gonna make a movie about a video game how about a Mario Brothers 3 or Legend of Zelda. Something classic.

I find it "hard" to see this movie failed. Since Microsoft has the rights to Halo they set huge minimal limits on the film such as the $75milllion the film company must spend on the actors. Ben Aflack *spelling* as MAster Chief ..........:P We'll I see it as bungie cleared the script so it has to be up to speed. :D

And I'm not worried about the movie staying true to the game so much as I hope they stay faithful to the books, cuz Halo has an AWESOME book series (sans The Flood, which was lamo) which tells a great backstory.

I dont really know what to say, I mean it could be a bad move but then could be a good move. If they stay to the story lines I think it could look pretty nice however if it turns out to be something completly different then its going to suck.

No matter what happens the movie is still going to get some huge ratings around the world, everyone knows about Halo and im sure alot of people who have played it will go see the movie to see what its like.

I wont say anything more at this time as we havnt even seen a trailer or anything or know what the story line will be about.

why should it be like the game? :D I mean, there's final fantasy movie, and it's not like the game (or 12 different games) but it's a movie. It's not like FF X would have something in commone with FF I, so i don't see the point movie being the "same as the game".

Another example is RE 1 and RE 4, they have nothing in commone besides the monsters. So the movie was good, it was full of them. And I bet the atmosphere is just like in the game.

Yeah!!! An MGS2 movie would actually be pretty good I think. All these game-turned-movies are always rubbish because the storyline has nothing to do with the game. But yeah, MGS2 was just like a movie and the whole "everyone was just nanomachines in Raiden's brain" bit would make an awesome twist for a movie.

Well, I'll be seeing it.. but it can never match up to the first Halo... but I'm sure they'll pick someone stupid like Matt Damon or something to play Master Cheif... but I guess it doesn't really matter since we never see ol' Cheifs face...
