My old CRT monitor is dyin' and I'm needing to consider a replacement. Been eyeing the LCD flatpanels for quite some time. What are your recommendations -- best "bang for the buck" scenario? What specs are you finding most important when shopping?

Thanks!!!!

Jeff

make sure u get one of those crystal view or high rez ones. I have 2 lcd's and if i drag the same pic over to the non high rez screen it looks all washed out. i would also go with viewsonic.

Yea, viewsonics are great. a little $$, but well worth it. Yea, if you do get a viewsonic get a graphics series one.

I have a ViewSonic VP171b (b stands for black), 17" monitor, and I'm loving it. It has a very thin edge, so that it almost seems as if you're looking at a floating screen. It's about the best 17" LCD screen money can buy imo. Costs some, but more than worth it.

RE: ViewSonic VP171b

This may be somewhat impossible to answer, but how long would a monitor of this caliber last if used, on average, 3 hours per day? Does all cabling come with the monitor package? NewEgg has this pup for $319.00. Will it be dropping anytime soon?

Thanks again everyone!
