pixelPeople - Information!

A long long time ago, in a web server far far away, sintax321 (a kf member) created what was known as pixel people. The project was a great hit, so it is only fitting that we bring this back up. The gist of the project is for you to create a pixel version of yourself. The dimensions of your pixel person should not exceed 50 x 50 pixels, but exceptions may be made.

The ONLY picky rule is for you to keep your entry appropriate. No obscene language, gestures, etc. Your pixel person will secretly replace your driver's license and passport photo, so make it appropriate enough to enter into Soviet Russia without getting into trouble.*

You can submit your entry/entries by creating a new thread in the pixelPeople sub-forum (http://www.kirupa.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=125). Good submissions will be featured in the continuously updated kirupaLab section devoted to this! There is no limit to how many entries you can submit, so submit early and submit often! :)

woohoo! It's back :D We need to put everyone in a group picture like the old days. it was so cummy.It looked like those old school picture's where the whole class would get photograthed. or even just a big happy family .. Maybe ever randommize it.. so everytime you refresh you get a new order.

you should add these people to kirupaVille and have them walk around and go in buildings and such

That would work out if kirupa buildings were substantially larger. Or if the people were made to have a maximum height of, say, 15 pixels. This way, the proportions would just kill that.

There are no deadlines for any of the projects here unless I mention it explicitly. Even for kirupaStamps, people will be able to submit new entries for as long as they want. The poll was just to order the entries of earlycomers.

The pixel people won't work well in kVille because, as mentioned, the size difference. Also, it is more difficult to make isometric pixel people :)

I dont think we've had any templates. You should be able to work off one of the those in my link. I think the one kirupa is using was a popular "standard" for pixel people, though usually using the :) smiley as a head (unless your skin tone differs enoug to change that ;)). The more slender Kitiara body is pretty good for females, though ( think 1 or 2 others used that one too ). A little erasing and replacing and you should be good.

Sure mette - you can propose a battle in the Battle forum and have people duke it out to create the best virtual version of you ;)

hi Everyone, i'm new to pixel art, and new to kirupaforums (even though I've been using the kirupa tutorial site for a while) and i'm loving it all...the forums are great kirupa.

Actually, it is based off of the Luigi Sprite from Super Mario All-Stars, SMB2 - when you're at the character selection screen.

I just made it look like me. Well, me about 4 years ago when I always wore my hat, and a blue, dragon-print button-down shirt over another shirt.
