Hi,
I was hoping someone could explain why this is happening...
I have a 1024 px X 768 px document with a placed jpg which is 96 DPI and the exact size. The problem is if I close and reopen the document the image ends up resized slightly smaller than before (1023.997 X 767.998). I could just rebuild this all in Photoshop, but am hoping there might be a simple solution, or some setting I've overlooked.
Thanks in advance for any help or insight you can offer.

Well I don't know for sure, but maybe it is resizing because you are saving your illustrator document at 72dpi instead of 96? It could be causing the image inside to rescale to the same resolution.

not sure if its the dpi, because images if i recall correctly are independent as long as they are not scaled or embeded into the document. I tend to use tiffs when working with illustrator for proper jobs of graphic placement, jpgs are fine for sketches and what not, but it may be the jpg being the issue here, i cant mimic the error so im not too sure.

Thanks for replying. You're right, no resizing weirdness when the image is 72 DPI or multiple of 72 (i.e. 144)... it must have something to do with the whole mac's and 96 DPI thing. You live, you learn.
