Hey guys, on your submission threads, please post a preview of your effect. That way, we don't have to download it and open up Flashplayer (or for me, Safari) for every submission. It takes much longer that way!
Here is the code for adding an SWF to your post: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/misc.php?do=bbcode#swf
You can also use the little Flash program to create the code for you here: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12
kirupaEDIT: No - this won't anymore: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101153 (http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101153)

This isn't exactly going to work now that swf's are disabled in posts.

Great, back to downloading the swf files just to view them properly. Why have they been disabled anyway?

He had a good reason to disable it, read his post in random to see why.

Here is the thread: http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=101153 The main reason was for security issues :)

Well, it's not as important now that the headers for SWFs are set correctly now. I would have to download the entire thing, and then go and open it in some undefaultish app thingy... now I don't :)

It's a shame the some script kiddy decided to do this but it's better it happened sooner than later. There's a problem with viewing the swf's offline though, they use more cpu time when running through the flash player...
I think I'm going to upload a html file for everyone to download and use to view my entries so it will use the same cpu as it would if it was a real header.
Off topic --> Can our local hard drives be affected the same way the server was? I have no idea what was done or how it was done and what risk it poses. Oh, and I thought Flash Player 6+ had cross domain access disabled through it's security sandbox.
edit: Is this a temporary solution?

You don't have to download the files. Now, the attachments.php servers Flash files correctly, so you can just open it in a new window.
