Download link.. ?

Hi, on my page I tried to get a download link working, and thought that a normal <a href="downloads/file.zip">Download</a> would make the viewer the option to Save As and Open etc. But when I use that link, it only redirects to some adv. page on my host.

It's a free host, so they might have some sort of blocking of such links.

But anyone know how I can get a link like that open the Save As options?

Ps: Would be best if it wasn't needed to be .php or somthing like that.

That is indeed correct.

If you are getting redirected to a host page, it sounds to me like the targeting is incorrect and the file doesn't exist in that directory.
