My work computer is making this high pitched ringing noise that fluctuates periodically in its loudness. anyone ever have this happen before? what's causing it?

Your processor maybe over heating. You can install a program that will tell you the temperature of your processor and see if it’s over heating.

a compaq technition just happened to be in the office this morning and said its probably either the bearings in the hard drive or the power source thats causing it.

thats what happened to my old pc - the hard drive bearing went- take it to a pc store near you and they can sort it

cool, its a work comp so Ill let the repair man come and fix it.

freaky we just had the same thing happen to our computer at work... :puzzled: and then then the power supply blew up, stoopid work computers!! i wouldn't trust my work computers as far as i can throw them! which currently is 3m, so outta 10 theres no love in our relationship.
