Flash help, shine effect

Hey there people, I need some swift help with a flash im trying to create;

Using this tutorial: http://www.tutorialoutpost.com/count/2080 (using Flash Mx 2004 instead of flash 5) I managed to get everything working okay but when I chose to "test movie" or export it nothing happens, whereas if I hit enter on the timeline it works fine. I have uploaded it so you can take a look for me:

Ok well I tried that but it only appears to "shine" over shapes, not text or bitmaps
