It's a great game and the visuals are fantastic. It is however your typical FPS but if you, like me, love em - you wont be disapointed.

Here is a good review for you to read before you buy

Enjoy :)

I disliked it. It didn't take too long to beat. It wasn't too difficult. There is no multi-playability, which is what makes FPS's so much fun. Graphics were great though.

I really want to play it, but my GF3 is quite outdated and wont' run it at the best setting possible (I don't play games on medium or low detail), and I'm not inclined to buy a new gfx card so that I can buy a game that further eats into what little time I have lol. War3 and Mech4: Mercs are addicting enough for me!

Cheers!

the graphics in the game are great, but story line is a bit boring and way too linear.

I hate CS actually, I dislike all FPS-multiplayer games, which is why I want Unreal II..

but.. kirupa... GF3 isn't enough..??

cripe.. I have an old GF2-MX... sheit...

I bet my baggy old system won't run it...

UT2003 is also really good, i'm assuming multiplayer would be mostly the same as the original game in quality.

fez

yea. thats what its al about. multiplayer. its surprising how many people there are still playing ut multiplayer. im not very good at int anyhow.

oh it's so fun anyway, the original at least. keep playing you'll get better soon. i know i would hit the ground within seconds of respawning. now i can survive for a couple more. :)

naah.. most of my social circle plays CS, and everytime they yell and scream at eachother... just because they got killed...

hey, isn't the POINT of the game to kill the opposing team? (no not exactly, but it's one of the main goals)

I've seen ppl flip completely because of this one game...

I like my quietude... I'll stick to my personal FPS with no-one but myself to argue and bicker with :P

2k3 is a good game. The only gripe i really have against it is that they didn't put enough new stuff and time into it. The graphics are great, and its a great game, but it pretty much is the exact same game as UT with some new graphics. All i really wanted were more new guns.

thoriphes

well the original guns were classic, and making new guns meant taking out some of the originals.

I really like the football type game where you can't shoot while carrying the "ball" which you have to throw at the goal. when someone's chasing me thinking i'm helpless, i absolutely love throwing the ball straight up in the air then taking him out then catching the ball again. it's the greatest feeling if you can pull it off.

wink wink

.....wonders if Phil knows something that Kirupa is oblivious to :)

Eilsoe, the game will be a tad bit sluggish, but it will run. I am quite picky when it comes to playing games, so I usually don't play the latest games unless my comp can handle them 110% at 6000X2000 resolution with 64 bit color and 640 fps :)

Cheers!

off topic for a bit. i found a really old ibm thinkpad, p 133 blah blah. but unless its connected to an external monitor, it wont do anything higher than 256 colors which in turn means grand theft auto wont work untill i hoook it up to a monitor. is it the lcd? or the 1 mb video card?

What I like to do, is throw the ball directly at the person shooting at you, then shoot them right away and hopefully kill them. They either die and drop the ball there and you just pick it up, or my favorite, they shoot the ball back thinking they still had their gun out, and you can kill them and then get the ball back.

you know whats funny? in the ut readme file it says
Mouse

Although you can rely solely on your keyboard to move around in and interact in Unreal Tournament GOTY's 3D universe, using both the keyboard and mouse simultaneously gives you much more fluid and responsive control.

When you use the mouse to control your rotational movement and aiming you gain a degree of precision and speed that players using keyboard-only controls can't touch. The keyboard is best used for easy lateral and forward/backward movement, and for jumping.

its funny because its seems like the moue is optional.

eilsoe
March 19th, 2003, 06:48 PM
of course it's optional, but I'd never dream of playing any new FPS game without the mouse...

.......I could have sworn I was an only child. But like the guy in Man IN the Iron Mask, I guess it was all just a conspiracy. Here are the pictures to prove that we are related:

I'm the asian guy in the top-right of the picture and nali is the caucasian guy standing up to the right of where I am. I hope this clears it up Phil....

NOTE TO ALL NON-PHILIAN PEOPLE: "NALI AND I ARE NOT RELATED".

Cheers!
