Hey Everyone,

I have been designing a website for a company and I employed the CSS Rollover Trick found under the CSS tab.

http://www.kirupa.com/web-tech/css_rollovers.htm

The company boss works on a macintosh computer, and always checks it with the Internet Explorer :: Mac version 5.2. The rollovers don't show up at all on that browser, and I just checked the page above with that IE:mac:5.2 and it's obviously the browser not understanding the trick, because no image appears at all on IE:Mac:5.2.
My first response was to tell her that IE Mac 5.2 sucks and no one uses it and just use Safari (it works on Safari), and I know that's crude but I kind of have the impression that most designers ignore IE : mac because of the browser glitches. I want to know if there is a workaround so that the rollover trick can work on IE:mac:5.2 or if I should just implement the ususal javascript rollovers. OR if I'm correct in saying IE:mac is such a small market segment that the compatibility problem could be ignored.

Thanks,
Bobby

Yeah I wasn't aware of a hack like those. I'm going to adapt that and see if I can get this to work.

I did a little researching and so far I've come across that .35% of the world uses Internet Explorer for Mac. My biggest complaint of web design is the lack of conformity of the rules and standards. It seems like there an explosion of browsers and each one has it's quirks. Grrr. Why can't Mozilla just dominate the earth :-)

Thanks again,
Bobby

Better yet, why can't Safari dominate? Oh yeah, nevermind, I know. We can use Firefox on Win, but stick with Safari on Mac.
