i was just wondering, why the hell won't kirupians do something like FS ??

we already talked about this. see there is such a big competition for flash right now...its hard to sell. thats why kirupa wont write one and sticks to Frontpage. but it would be a good idea.

thats such a good idea for a forum who helps people to come together to make a book. looks really good too

The idea sounds nice, but the market is saturated with Flash books. This could be part of the reason why friends of ED is supposedly going bankrupt. Publishers believed that Flash would create a new wave of designers and developers who would buy their books such as what people did when C++ and Java were becoming popular.

Alas, most people, while they bought books, learned to use tutorial sites for all the help and such. Unlike Java and C++ (esp. C++), the internet helped make Flash learning a lot easier. While books such as those might be very useful, only reference books such as the ASDG and books on hard-to-find topics will sell well :)

That's why a book is very unreasonable for Flash imho.

well, while that might be true, I think a book geared towards something SPECIFIC in flash would sell... I haven't seen many books on setting up a flash online store, or a book about artistic design in flash...
