I put in a request for a Wacom tablet yesterday with IT, and I've just found out that they've gone and ordered it for me. :beam:

I never thought they'd fall for this in a million years! And a CD Writer to boot!

This has made my day, I get to play with a Wacom! :cyborg:

actually, while we're at it. I saw an ad for a Wacom Graphire 2 her at work, and I asked my "teacher" if it'd be an interesting asset to the office, and he said he'd think about it :smirk:

I'm just lucky that I know the boys down in Desktop Support who order these things. I don't think I'd have got this little lot signed off otherwise. They've got me Studio MX, ColdFusion, Illustrator and Photoshop, a sound editor called Cool Edit, a brand new PC double the current company spec, and now a CD writer and a tablet. :blush:

I think I'm going to enjoy drawing with this thing. :)

they are good fun just doodleing about, but because im a bit naf at drawing i usually never make anything that great with it.

yeah i love them. although i find it hard to get used to, i acctually drew some half way decent stuff. you just gotta get used to it. lol i put paper over mine for a while, just for resistance...

reason did you give that you needed it Kit? Something along the lines of it being helpful and more accurate when altering photographs and images, easier to create new icons / graphics instead of buying other peoples and giving me an advantage in forum battles alright, maybe not that last bit.

about the sceptics that do not see the importance of tablets:
i use it for almost all my apps, if you're handy (ha-ha) then its ten times as fast as a mouse.... Alright maybe not, but much more precise --- when you draw selections or even work with sound files it's very useful - and a compartist really needs one if he wishes to make digital art...

a tablet makes certain tasks so much easier...

of course, if you are a programmer, you could prob get by without a mouse...
