Critique my new splash

hey guys,

If you could offer me some feedback on this simple flash splash page for my soon to be online portfolio. It started of as a muck around piece in photoshop but i liked it so much, i finished it up in flash.

I like it a lot! I would say that the buttons and text are too light but I kind of like it that way too. Good Job. Can't wait for it to be finished.

yeah maybe a bit more dropshadow on those buttons and titles, but it looks great. It might need another color, it's kinda in monotone right now. Also, on the rollovers, I would like to see different paint "splatters" under the buttons, it is always the same one. Looks great though, keep it up man!

add a hover caption or something for the contact button. clicking on it and having it open a mail client is just obnoxious.

Too heavy for a splash. Increase FPS. Don't like the logo. Add some more color. On the whole, quite good. :hat:

It's cool, but it's really not a splash page...

There is a bug when I rolled over contact and then instantly to the Portfolio button, the contact animation started to loop.

@unchew - grrrr i didn't think anyone would find it!! haha, i'd better try and fix it

@Insomniac - i know, like i said it started as a little testy thing in photoshop, i know im breaking the rules with a flash splash as it kind of defeats the object but, well it will stay until i have the actual site done.

@Tommy_S - yeah maybe, i think there may be a real lag on it, in firefox its kinda laggy, its at 30 fps though. But there are quite alot of alpha fades on png's on each rollover. and the logo stays!

@bwh2 - its a good point, i will change the email text, so it says open your email client or something like that

@RadioactveChimp - i have real troubles as it looks so different on the LCD screen i designed t on. I will have a fiddle with it though. And yeah, i think i need to find some sort of accent colour, which i will use in the final site. and the splatters are different look closer!!

@eltomate42 - thanks, i wanted it light, as i was going for a really minamal look, glad you like it!

@tommy_s - i was just saying that for me it lags a touch when in firefox, but now im stumped, i shall have to have a look at the PNG optization.
