I tried importing some .wavs in to Flash a couple seconds ago and, for some reason, the quality was TERRIBLE (yes, it sounds fine outside of Flash). Is Flash particularly incompatible with .wavs? Does it work better with .mp3s? Is this supposed to happen?

EDIT: (Actually, let me reword this so that I don't sound so bloody lazy. I can obviously check the .mp3 part myself.)

Are .wavs only pseudo-compatible with Flash, or is something weird going on?

I thought WAVs were supposed to have better quality because MP3s are so compressed. But I did notice that with WAVs sometimes they become distorted if they are large files. maybe its because of the increased file size...
