I'm trying to revamp my logo for my K-Elements Design company.

Here are some samples to look at. Where am I heading? How are the fonts? The overall design? What's you favorite?

Any other feedback would be great?

everything looks a bit blurry. is the image squished widthwise? I'm not really feeling any of them. I kindof like the k for number seven without the circle but that style of a logo reminds me of shoes or a k-mart clothing company for some reason. I think i like 8 the best for its simplicity but in truth im not feeling any of them. What does the elements part of the name stand for? What i think would be cool is having the K elements type sort of like u have it above and to the left of that have four sort of icons that represent elements: fire, wind, water, etc. So you'd have two elements on top and two on the bottom and have it be the same size as the type on the right. Just an idea.

Thanks j-polo for the feedback. I'm not sure if the width has been formatted by Kirupa. Now that I look at them again they do look a tad blurry. there is a slight gradient on some of the designs. They were created in illustrator so they shouldn't look blurry.

K-Elements Design is a play on words. My initials are KLM, but of course KLM Design is taken. K-Elements represents my initials, KLM.

Elements refers to:

1. A fundamental, essential, or irreducible constituent of a composite entity.

2. elements The basic assumptions or principles of a subject.

3. one of the factors determining the outcome of a process

Design refers to:

1.to create, fashion, execute, or construct according to plan

2. to conceive and plan out in the mind

Perhaps the logo is not capturing the essence of what it all means. I'm looking for more feedback. On where to go here.

PS the K in #7 is part of my signature. Though it works great as a signature, I've found it difficult to incorporate into a logo.

PPS definition credit goes to dictionary.com and m-w.com

I'd say 5 and 6, though functionally they're the same. I'd change the "Design" font on those though.

I like #11 for a good start point. I would like to see a better font treatment. Nothing serif I would think. Also maybe stylize the K a bit but leave the line under it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'm in the process of revamping some of your favorites and updating my font collection. Looks like five is a hit so far.

Keep the suggestions coming and I'll keep revamping in illustrator.

thats all folks

dude9er,

I think 3,5 and 8 are good, but the font treatment needs to be re-worked....
But you have a good start, just need to flush them out more......

I like 5 and 11 though I really think 11 would look great with j polos idea of the elements but on the left and right That would really look good IMHO

11 would be my choice. I'd take the elements out of the box make it the blue, and put the designs in a blue box white text. right now it's to cluttered. The K w/ underline is just a tad bland but it's the best part of all the logos.

lot's of comments on the fonts. Does anyone have any suggestions on what fonts to pick? I kinda like the concept of having the "design" tracking to expand as much as the K-Elements. But I don't know what font to use.

I've been using..

1. Berkely Retrospective ssi (*k_elements)
STD B (**design)

2. Bitsumishi *
STD B **

3. SF Arborcrest Heavy *
STD B **

4. Abtecia Basic San Serif *
STD B **

5. STD B *
Berkely Retrospective ssi **

6. see 5

7. see 2

8. see 1

9. K is handelgothicD BOL
see five

10. see 9

11. see 9

Any suggestions on what to do with the "K"? DDD says to stylize it a bit. Any suggestions on how/what to do with it?

Thanks y'all.

1,4,7 are my picks.

Personally I am not real impressed by any of them. They just aren't very unique. In the design field you have to stand out or be forgotten.

With this said, you need to stylize everything. There is nothing with plain simple fonts, but they need to be stylized and make you stand out.

Here's an updated thought process with my logo. Now which is best and what can I expand on?

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it.

simplistik, is #9 what you meant?

starting to look better. #3 is interesting the last one is the strongest. Keep at it.

thanks guys. I'm kinda drawn to #2,3 or 8. #2 just seems different. I like the vertical to horizontal ratio. Not sure if this has been done before, but it makes me think "hmmm, this might work". Unfortunately it doesn't incorporate the underlined "K", which I really love.

Any other thoughts?

I like 8 orange makes it alive :)

I like 8 the best. It has a shape that can be easily identified at first glance, and the orange does add something. 2 and 3 seem like just typography with a shape, they aren't really going to stand out in any way.

I like 2, 5, and 11. I think 5 is the best. 11 would be better if the "elements" word wasn't touching the edge of the blue box. know what I mean by that? I'm confusing so it's ok if you don't.

oh crap you added more for us to look at, so ignore my last post. in the last image you attached I like 3, 5, and 9 the most. 5 is the best, I think.
9 would be better if you moved the word elements up like one or two pixels, I think. but that's a minor thing.
good work. I suck at designing logos but I can tell a good one from a bad one.
