So david said
2. Screw the comments. If you want to comment, start a thread called "comments to the one word story thread." All comments will be deleted.
so here i am making that thread
i think one word story threads are the ultimate spam mechanism disguised in a innocent little girl form to fool the mass manipulated population into believing in witches and ghosts who are haunting me
comments are welcome
spam is not

Just a question about the one word story thread............. Can we put punctuation marks at our posts? :)
CyanBlue
March 18th, 2003, 03:38 AM
Better yet, can punctuation marks be considered as one word??? =)

March 18th, 2003, 03:59 AM
lol.. I've added rule 8 to allow for punctuation placement. If you want the punctuation to be your word for that post, you're welcome to do so, but it's not a given.

I see that others have started to do what I did.. namely post more than one in a row. This I don't mind, though please keep it to a minimum. :) Sometimes you just gotta add another word.. especially if no one else is posting.

The story doesn't make much sense anymore... :(
Maybe you should add something like no two consecutive posts and no multiple posts in 10 minutes or something... Was fun though... ;)

whatever phil. I'm lightened. I am just going to take my ball and go home though if people are not going to follow the simple rules I set down for it. For that matter. I'm going to delete the thread setting back everyone's post counter.
If people wanted to post random garbage, they can create their own thread to do it. I set up that thread for Lavaboy to prevent people from doing exactly what happened. If you don't like that.. then start a thread of your own.

I would think, Phill, as moderator of this forum, that you would support my efforts to not remove the fun of people like Lavaboy who had one simple request.. to have a single thread that would adhire to a structure.
The fun of the one word thread comes from being forced to come up with a word that fits.. a single word. since we have literaly thousands of threads of crap in here.. it doesn't seem like a whole lot to ask for.
And yes.. I do feel better deleting that thread. No one is going to gain post counts from a thread of mine through misapropriation of that thread. The fact that you found it fun to detract from my fun just makes me upset with you.
I'll get over it. I can't expect anything less than that from the random forum.

whatever phil, you guys are the ones that ruined my fun. That sucks no matter how you try to explain it.

see.. now that's what you should have done in the first place. start a thread where you can post random stuff at your whim and let others have their threads as they are conceived.
don't get on my back about this phill.. you're just being childish. I was childish in deleting the thread.. but I'm man enough to admit it. I can be childish with my own thread.. that's the beuty of being the person who started it.
bleh to you phill and to all your cohorts who have no imagination or respect for other people. bleh bleh bleh.

I see you want me to start cursing at you phill.. well I learned my lesson.. I'm not going to do that.. but neither am I going to post any longer in the random section. You guys want to have complete anachy in here.. fine, do it without me
good bye everyone, I really appreciate the respect you bother to show me.

Wow... I'd say chill to you both... Phil, you are being kinda childish, but not too much, and Dave, thanks for helping me on that thread, but I mean, it IS the Random section, and we all know that anything goes here.
In the forum I think there are Rules and unreasonable guidelines, the rules are no to cursing, no to insulting other members, and no to posting messages that detract from the purpose of this forum. However, if we post a thread in the random forum with guidelines, we can't EXPECT people to follow them, but they can certainly RESPECT them.
I understand your frustration Dave, you were the only mod trying to moderate that thread... a looong, complicated, all nonsense thread. And thank you for doing that.
I don't think however, that mods should be seen as conflicting by the other members. Other members look to people like Dave and Phil to set an example for forum behavior, and I'm sure the last think Kirupa wants is people having arguments, or giving the image that it's easy to get into an argument here. Phil, I understand that you were just trying to have fun, but you know Dave took that thread seriously, and you should have made your comments to him either privately or on the mod forums.
But anyways, I was having fun, I am having fun, and I will continue to have fun at kirupaforums. I suggest we get over this, and Dave, can you please come back to Random?
Thanks
Raf

Alls I read was a bunch of blah blah blah and yada yada yada...
And I read the entire thing and still thought that... So if you think about what I just said.. Then reread what you guys' posted... Then I think you will agree on waht I'm now about to say..
"When choosing your next step on the road of life, don't let the little stones on the road be something more than just something to kick away. For if you stop and take heed to those little stones, you won't have time to meet up with the bigger stones ahead of you." - Marz
Forgive and forget guys... It's a forum argument.. It's a small stone that should just be kicked aside.

hey mak, maybe i'll start another one when i finish all my coursework and my exams are over :nerd:
as for the evidence, all that was left was a pile of white ash - some of which blew away in the wind, some of which was swept up and flushed down the loo, and the rest drowned in cold water... 8]
off the topic now, what does it mean if someone buries a bird in your front garden? :stunned:
