Well, doing this logo for client. The first image is what he wanted, the second two are my variations. Thoughts or tips?

Start without the colors/dodge & burn/styles. A logo should be designed first in black and white, then enhanced once you have a final. What exactly is the logo for and what sort of latitude is the client giving you?

its for a company called Klevland Internet. And i think thats a bit of BS about starting in black and white...i have a two tone version ehre http://www.vitoxwebdesign.com/logo2.jpg which was the start. Those are the colors he wants, and the style, with the lower part of the K like that.

I like the 3rd rendition actually. It's clean and keeps with the color scheme more. Looks very professional and appropriate. The only thing is that it won't look all that good if printed as black and white on paper, for say a letter etc. Just a thought. But nice none the less! Cheers!

And i think thats a bit of BS about starting in black and white... lol well a two-tone version is the same thing he was talking about and thats the first thing i was going to sugguest. Because the 3-d versions don't look too great, mainly because it doesn't look like it is done correctly. The second K looks the best of the three but i think the two-tone looks better than any of them. What does the second one look like without the shadow?
Also how would you incorperate this with the company name? Might want to put up some versions with the typeface also.

1st one. But still, all of them are too complex. :hat:

First. Would function better as a logo in flat black. When doing a logo (or most corporate design, for that matter), its generally best to not even open photoshop unless *absolutely* necessary ;). Even then it would only be used for very minor imaging work.

hmmm first one is best I think but I'm not keen on any, like has previously been recommended its best to start and build your logo in plain colours with no effects etc, then once you have the basic outline THEN enhance it a little.

none of 'em do much for me... but if that's what the client wants that's what he gets...

Of course if what you're looking for is a header image for an already decided upon logo then we'll have to go about this differently. Just trying to be helpful.

He was only stating that you should show a flat version and not a photoshoped version of a logo.

Anyway, 1 is the best outta all of them, but it's seemingly to generic IMO... just looks like a stock font.

Also try to show logos here at a smaller size. It allows people to take it all in easier...

We decided to stick with a flat logo, and maybe use those in the future for something. Thanks for all the hints/help guys!
