Hi all,
Just finished my personal portfolio and would be very happy if you could look at it and give me some critique!
The look, the feel and the rest...
It is by default in Swedish but you can change to English by clicking the flag in the top right corner.
The link: redeemergames (http://www.redeemergames.com)
Thanks

I really like it. The colors are great and the animations are nice and fast. Good Job!

i think you've done an excellent job. just a couple of things i would fix up.
1) the graphic at the top - the white doesn't look crisp. it looks faded. a clean white will make the graphic pop.
2) i wouldn't have seen the language icons if your post hadn't pointed them out. if the large majority of your visitors will be swedish speakers, this shouldn't be too much of a concern. but if you have a reasonable number of english visitors you might want to consider allowing them to select english before entering the site.
3) i'm always fearful that contact buttons will open up mail programs when i click them. a hover caption might be useful for your contact button icon.
4) perhaps make your image title text non-selectable

I like it, the websites bouncing in and out is a little annoying, but not that bad. And I would bring the language change down so we see it right away. O, and I agree with bwh2 about the contact link, i dont want Outlook to pop up on my computer so maybe something to tell us that its for contact information or something like that! :) Great job.

Hi
Thanks for all the comments!
I will fix the logo and I totally agree about the language links. Do you have any suggestion where to put the flags?
What do you think about changing the caption "Contact & Info" to "About this site". Would that make it more clear that it is not an email link but a link to a new page (with contact information)?
Does the video buffer and play well?

yeah i'd just put the flags/language change in the lower right under the main content space . . . looks like the perfect spot for it ;)

yeah, i think that would do the trick. as far the language icons, i would try them in the bottom right next to the contact/about link.

Thanks for all the suggestions and the nice words.
I fixed the the logo so it is much crisper now. And moved the language buttons to a better location and changed the title of the contact section.

Hey,
Good Job ;-)
I was wondering if you could reveal a little of the resizing engine??
I have been looking on the internet for some tutorial on how to achieve this effect. I can't seem to find anything ;-(
anyways looking good

Hi majunior,
I do the resizing by using the Tween classes in Actionscript. The tween classes can be used to create actionscript animation very easily. You can read about the Tween classes here Tween classes (http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/mx/flash/articles/tweening.html)
Simply I just animate the width, height, x and y values of a movieclip, containing a white background, with the Tween class animations.

Looks good. The little video of you smiling and pulling faces (:)) is a nice touch. The rollovers didn't always seem to work for me, though. But, apart from that, it's all nice and good and Swedish :).
