hello friends, wanted to consult the following thing to them: I am creating an animation. In the Stage I have filled up it almost with many squares in its different rows and columns, and leaving something of space among them (something as well as the tiles), and each of these are buttons, that when they settle above an animation begins type fade, but returning to the main color.
My question is with respect to creating an animation with them, I have all in the Stage, but my intention is that when begins, appear 1 to 1, with fade in, and randomly.

As I can make this masters? thank you very much beforehand, and excuse the annoyances.
Sorry for my poor English.

Cheers for this it's very close to what I'm trying to do but not quite.

How would I alter the AS to create a fade out version as well as the fade in and then be able to call the function if one of the squares is clicked?

When you say, "fade out", do you mean all of the squares fade out at the same time? All the squares fade out randomly? Or just the one you clicked on? Please be more specific.

sorry mate..should've said

what I'm after is the clicked grid button to fade out first and then the other ones follow in a random order, and then the ability to fade all of them back in randomly on a main menu click.

hope that's more specific :)

you can get the file here (http://www.siliconbauhaus.com/misc/base3.rar)

I'm working on it. I'm just trying to make the Actionscript really easy to understand because it's going to look completely different than what you're used to writing.

Click on one of the squares and watch them all fade out randomly. Click on the reset button to bring them all back randomly.

All of the Actionscript is in the first frame in its own layer. I'll try and get around to commenting the code later (maybe tonight), but I'm busy for the rest of the day. Good luck.

Lindquist,

Thnaks again for your help with this, it's very much appreciated. I've got this pretty much working as I want but I'd like to ask a couple more questions.

Is it possible to have the sequencial fade in happen at the start?

When applying an action to one of the buttons (ie loadMovie ) I'm not exactly sure how to path it because of it being within an array.

One thing I have noticed that happens is this. When you click on one of the squares and they all fade out, the one you clicked on is still hitable (mouse cursor is a hand over it) if you click it again and then hit reset one of the original buttons that faded out is no longer clickable. If you click a different square and then click it again once its faded the same thing happens again so eventually all the squares become inoperative.

Any ideas on this?
