View Full Version : Very limited knowledge

I have very limited knowledge of flash. Now I have a client who wants the front page of his site to be a motorcycle (his) to drive in, the tire spin and a cloud of smoke to come from the tire. In the last frame, the smoke would contain the name and date of the band playing that week.

You guessed it, the site is for his biker type bar. He supplied me with a photo of the bike and so far, all I have is the bike running accross the page. I told you limited knowledge! ha

Can this even be done? I did find a photo of smoke that looks like it might come from a tire, but when I try to add it to the bike thing I have so far, it just doesn't happen.

Hope someone can either help me, or tell me what it would cost to have the darn thing made!

I appreciate any help you can give.

By the way, this is my first post. Let me know if you are interested in seeing the graphic he supplied me with.

Thanks again,
Pam

it's dooable all right. I would carry out the smake effect using maya fluid effects , or combustion. Your not gunna be able to create that effect easyly using only flash.

I could make the effect, but I'm gunna be busy this coming week. Contact me by email, and we could talk about it :).

Welcome to the forums also!

Cheers!

This is the link where you can see the bike.

Thanks to both of you for your response. I REALLY appreciate it.

Let me know what you think of the image.

you can be creative. get the bike to move in, then make some .png images with transparency in the spokes. you can have the png rotate in flash.

the tricky part. if you want it to be stylized smoke you could try and vector it (it'd be pretty basic). you could then use the anchorpoints for shape tweening and have the smoke morph into the name. that would take a lot of work... espescially for a weekly project.

the maya effects would look top notch but if you don't have the program and knowledge to do it then it's not very useful (again the weekly deal).

my advice is to try the vectoring and use the alpha to your advantage. it might not look 100% realistic but it would definitely be editable for a weekly change (even the smoke and then the name appearing normally with smoke as background).

If the link above didn't work for you, try http://www.cincinnatidesigns.com and click the portfolio.

Sorry about the link and I STILL need someone to do this for me. We can talk about what it will cost.

Thanks,
Pam
