I have a question that I can't seem to find the answer for anywhere. It's hard to explain. Maybe it is not possible. But how do you crop something to a custom drawn selection? *I am not just talking about the type of cropping that you turn the path into a selection and then invert the selection and hit delete. This still leaves white space around your selection while the picture is still in a rectangular shape. I am talking about so that the actual picture file is in the shape of your path... Anyone?

i think he wants a clear background in the image because you cant make an image that isnt a rectangular format. if you want a clear bg then you have to make it and save your final as a .gif or a .png (png has a better resolution but is not supported on all all browsers.)

Yea, you can't have a non-rectangular picture.

Does anyone know how to fix this cropping problem: sometimes when I click and drag to crop, the program won't let me drag a big enough area. It limits where I can crop, stopping on one side. It's kind of driving me nuts since it seems to be so random.

^^ you probably have a specific crop ratio / size defined by PS.

When you use the crop tool there should be a crop taskbar at the top of the application, which lets you choose width and height of your cropped image (and the tint % of the cropped area). Use the 'clear' button which will reset the tool.
