yes!! if you look at my footer, you will notice an "options" button at the bottom right, which will allow you to put in any text you would like in my footer to display for you. the thing is that the footer text you will modify will be only visible to you via shared objects. the place where i host the swf file doesn't support php or mySQl....and that last time i tried writing the code for it [ i have php etc installed on my pc ], it crashed brutally [ yeah i know....how the hell???? ].

when you're bored of the text, just reset it [ options > reset ], and it will revert to the updated version [ yes, i do update it :) ......well, hopefully, that is ].

if you find any bugs, please pm me. if you would like to know how i made this, post in this thread (no, i will not give out this source; i will show you how to do your own), and if you happen to find any bugs, let me know a.s.a.p.

enjoy :thumb: :)

[ usage : options > give focus to the text, then right-click, and select all > type your text > ok ]

well... aside from the fact that when you come to this page the cpu sky rockets cause of your footer... it's pretty decent. Some of the colors are ugly and make it impossible to read though.

I think the best are: #ADAD01 and #A5CD01. Others just annoy the eyes.

changed the colours...thanks for the feedback :thumb:

as for the cpu process...well, mine [ p4 2.66Ghz 480Mb RAM ] still stays the same, at around 10%.

[ edit: now you can search google from my footer! ]

[ edit: now you can search google from my footer! ]Frost make it so that you cna delete all the text at once, and not manually if people wanna search google, and make the buttons more visable

W00T! Fun! Very cool idea, although I'd like to see it check for updates, that way every instance of the footer on the page would update when you changed the text.

yeah, but to do that, i will need php, and where i host the file doesnt allow php...or mysql....it's basically crap.

done and done. added a 20% black tint on all the buttons, and made a clear button, to clear the text field. to use the google function, clear the textfield, type in your search, and press the 'google it' button.

It flashes A LOT on every frame.

flashes?? what do you mean?

Jeff Wheeler
April 9th, 2005, 06:36 PM
It uh... the shadow appears and disappears every frame. I admit... I'm on a slow machine, but not very slow.

frost_oni
April 9th, 2005, 06:53 PM
now that is weird.....the shadow and glow is below the text, and is static; there is only an interval to make the text scroll.
