Hi I was wondering if anyone here has written the Macromedia Certified Exam for FlashMX 2004 (Design or Developer). If so, is it worth while? Any recommended study guides? Was it terribly difficult or just thorough?

I've been using Flash for about two years now, more in a design capacity than development. I understand some of the more common concepts of actionscript, but would like to learn more. For example the loadMovie event makes sense to me and I use it very often, but then I'll see something like two equal signs == and I have no idea what it means. I took the 14 question sample test (for design) at the MM website and scored a 10... do you think I should just go for it?

Cheers,

S ^^

Moved to Random - not really a question on how to do something in Flash. :)

As for the question - never hurts to try although I think you should probably know that == is used for comparison for example in an if statement. :D

Go for it, they are very easy. But unless you are shopping around for a job, which I'm not and never will, it won't do you any good. I kind of think it won't help you in the real world at all. But people still get certified anyway.

strange but I'm hoping to go for macromedia certification later in the year

my background is development, ASP, and I'm doing an ASP.NET course later in the year as well as trying for the flash certificate. I just think it will make me much more employable. I have a varied CV and I think this will help me even more. I'm gonna learn PHP this year too so, it's all good

Does it help with Electrical Engineering / Engineering Physics?
