Well here is a layout i was going to use to make my portfolio but i decided to scrap it. I thought it looked nice but just doesn't project what i want my portfolio to say. I guess i want a more corporate look.
Sorry for the watermarks but i gave some people a sneak peak before i scraped the idea. The centerpiece was where my logo was going to go. Here it is:

Yeah that really is cool looking. It's not corporate like you said, but that's a good thing if you ask me :)

I like it, it's warm..eye-catching. Though I agree with your preference for a more corporate look, I myself am looking for a corporate look too for my portofolio. But don't put it to thrash. Every layout you make should be kept, you never know ..:)

yeah but i make completely custom things. I might keep it in my portfolio as a mock but thats it, each client gets the works.

I like it a lot. The colors and the detail on the outside of the frame are really nice. The corporate look has been overdone anyway, so you could have an edge over your competition by having something different - such as this.
Good idea watermarking it too. I was planning on stealing it and using it for the kirupa.com layout without giving you credit, but alas, I can't any more :beam:

haha yeah i dont know the postive feedback is killing me...
maybe a theme for kirupa?...
god i really dont know if i should try to finish it or trash it. just so you guys understand how it would look finished. I would change the water in the header (if time allows animate it in AE), and add a lot of decals to the border.
