When I bought my PC I had an AMD64 3000 put in it, and had installed the beta version of Win64. All I have to say is that if all my programs worked right and if my sound card had worked, I would have been very very satisfied. Performance was absolutely incredible. I have 1g of RAM to boot as well, but being on a 32-bit version of Windows is an insane difference, at least from what I have experienced. I'm very very excited at the thought of a 64 bit Windows that actually works!

Do the drivers for your hardware have to be written for 64-bit also? In other words, is 64-bit XP backwards compatible with 32-bit software?
