Hey... I've been looking around, there is endless documentation on building your own desktop, but I was wondering if anyone knows of an adequate source of information on building a laptop??

it's kind of hard to build your own laptop

you won't be able to obtain a case anywhere, it's more like creating your own case, and getting the right sized stuff.. i've seen a guide, i'll tell you if i find it

Yeah, I imagined it would be pretty hard...it would be a small working space too..post if you ever come across that guide again..

The problem is, building your own notebook is ineffective in comparison to buying one, both by cost and power. If you manage to build a notebook that is cheaper than current models, it could be some of the following A) not be visually appealing to look at B) weak in terms of power C) No warranty..at all, except on the individual components.

The case would be hard to find (or make) as previously mentioned but so will the screen. Keep in mind that laptops are mass produced and a company gets those parts at a nice price, not one you will get yourself.

you might want to look into mini itx...even though it wont be a tradional laptop...[more like a small desktop] it should be easier to work with....plus they have a large community of customizers
