can you vote on two logos?

I am making a site for a guy who is setting up a fire training company and he can't decide which logo to go with. neither are my work but can be changed by me if needed - fonts etc.

Which is the best in your opinion - you're the graphics gurus - can you help us decide?

I'd say the second one too. Much more flexible (you'd have a horrible time with the first on a black and white letterhead). Could try reducing the kerning a bit on the text on the second, that might help.

I saw this thread when it first came out and tried to formulate my thoughts into an analogy but couldn't come up with an adequate one so decided to skip it. But salvador asked me to comment so here I am. :)

It's difficult to comment because they are so different. One is graphically extreme and flashy, the other is really simple. Honestly I like them both (though I would change some of the colors on the first one), but for different applications. For example, the first would make a great sticker or t-shirt, the second would make great letterhead, etc.

I agree with crazyface above, but I like the second one a tad more ;)

I like the second one, but it needs to be developed a bit more.... kerning should be reduced (it'll bring those letters cliser together) also I dont like the font being used. Something sleeker to match the overall design. Good luck!

i don't like either. although 2 is better because it doesn't rely on several colors (including a gradient) like 1. the flame in 2 is decent, but the typography needs a lot of work.
