tried search engines? although if it's for commercial use it's prolly not allowed, in that case i believe that you'll need to get some stock photography/pictures to do it

sniff around NASA and you'll prob find all sorts of images.
I did a project using a globe and used http://images.google.com like mlkdesign suggests.
You could also use http://www.corbis.com or http://www.gettyimages.com, but they are pay sites (with previews).

no images required! the chances are you've all got it.
Have a look at the webdings font in your fonts folder (Use character map if on PC) and you'll see that you've got it.
You can then take the character into either Illustrator or Photoshop and scale it to suit as a vector or bitmap graphic - whichever you prefer!
hth :)

Have no idea what the keystroke is but the image below shows my view of Character Map on Win2k - does this help?

I think (and don't quote me on this) that you can even get a Photoshop brush like this.
But I can't remember where I found it... I'll have a look. :)

You're probably right Kit - perhaps the Adobe exchange? There is also the possibility of a Custom Shape which will be even better as they're vector-based outlines/paths.

Alright, there is that option. :)
Cello - yeah, you could be right, that could well be where I saw it. :) And vector based obviously gets the :thumb:

Tell you what folks - tomorrow morning I'll upload a PS brush AND a custom shape. That keeps everyone happy.
And we all like a happy Kit :)
Have only got PS 6 at work but have PS 7 at home
Guess who's not doing much tonight ;)

*Bounces* Cool. :)
I'm going to try and find that brush regardless, if only because it's going to bug me if I don't. :P
Only I'm going to do this during work hours, because I am currently bored out of my skull with what's in my In-Tray. :)

Okay folks - as promised :P
Here's a link to a zip that contains a .csh and an .abr (brush and custom shape) of a world map.
Please note that this is not meant to be 100% accurate - it's just a stylised map that can be used for small illustrations on your web project - so don't tell me what islands are missing! Heck, not even all the continents are there :)
Get it here... (http://www.betsytaylor.co.uk/kirupa/world_map.zip)
They both require PS v7 to work.
Hope they are of use to someone here...

Can we have a picture first, I don't like downloading things unless I want them, too much effort :P:P

Soul all you do is - set charactermap to WebDings, find the pic, copy, create some new text in photoshop and paste it. then change the font to WebDings. I did it yesterday :P
(you'll probably have to set the text size to about 300pt to get it to look... big(ish))

Hmmm, weren't you telling Asphalt off about 'lack of effort' yesterday Soul? ;)
It's a good brush though Cello, just tested it out on my PC. :) Works like a charm. :)
