My mate, for a laugh, bought his friend a christian rock album! It was a hilarious gift and the artwork is almost TOO funny.

Anyways, cleverly, it's called "To Hell With The Devil"!!! It's by a band called Stryper (www.stryper.com (http://www.stryper.com)) and their album on ebay (along with some stupid song-names) is at: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000000OB3/002-1486063-9280828?v=glance
And you can even listen to some "rockin" samples there too.

Here's some lyrics to "To Hell With The Devil"...

Speak of the devil
He's no friend of mine
To turn from him is what we have in mind

Just a liar and a thief
The word tells us so
We like to let him know
Where he can go

[Chorus]
To hell with the devil
To hell with the devil

When things are going wrong
You know who to blame
He will always live
Up to his name

He's never been the answer
There's a better way
We are here to rock you
And to say...

[Repeat Chorus]

Hahaha--lame.

For the record, comparing all Christian rock to a 80's christian hair metal band is not exactly fair to the genre by any means... the album was released in '86... that's about 19 years ago, and last I checked most things were pretty corny back then... (remember the hair and clothes from that time? laughable.)

In my mind, Stryper is a look at the beginnings of what is now Christian rock, and though comical to us was quite popular when it was released... and you can say how corny and lame most music that was 'popular' 20 years ago seems today for any genre, not just Christian Rock.

dude... POD is christian...Pillar... Reliant[K] is christian and super cool...switchfoot.. they are so fricken cool.. i was fans way before they went mainstream... dctalk was the shizzle back in the day.... Creed... screw creed they suck...

they just have a different style... there was this one white christian rapper guy... he was so good.. can't remember his name... i used to only be allowed to listen to christian music as a kid... not even U2.. had to say jesus like twice in every song.. so lame... but
now i'm all growed up-ed.. i only listen to secular.. kinda like the catholic school girl syndrome...

Yes and POD are rubbish!
I'm sure christian bands are capable of coming up with decent riffs etc but it's just their lyrics! Which is why I posted Stryper's lyrics originally.

ya, stypers lyrics are pretty ridiculous but im saying not all christian bands have lame lyrics. just the mainstream ones.

Yeah christian bands seem dorky, but one of my favorite bands is a christian band. Check out underoath if you want to hear another side to christian music :)
