loadmovie to target not totally working

So I am tring to load a movie into a target. It is loading but all of the scripts are not working (some of the scripts are working). All the scripts work if I load the movie to a level instead of a target. But I need the movies to be in a target because of the motion that I want to apply to the loaded movie. Please help I have no idea what is wrong.

in the moive that you are loading into the target, try changing anything that says "_root" to "_parent"

that might work, it seems to cause a lot of trouble...
