Layout crit please

I started on this about a week ago but have since started school and haven't had much time to mess with it. Any comments/suggestions/love/hate is very welcome. This is just the news/home page, I have a few other sections done but I'm looking for crits on the overall layout. After I'm happy with the layout, onto Flash. The one thing I'm not very happy with is the scroller, maybe the position but it just looks a little odd. Thanks :beam:

In fact the only thing I find uncomfortable is that scroller, just like you said. You could maybe just stick it more to the right. Nice colors and clear, I like it. Good job.

It looks good so far, makes me want to explore more. The nav and content box look real sharp and straight, what if you made them a little irregular like the "hosting by" and "all content" boxes.

It is a very nice start. Did you consider making the background image with grunge borders?

Thanks so much for everyone's comments. I like the idea of maybe having the content boxes not so clean, I'll try that out this weekend. I may add a little grunge on the background photo to make it look more torn on the edges. Definitely need to mess with the scrollbar, like Gnu said, it just gives an uncomfortable feeling. Thanks again guys... any more comments would be awesome.

I love the roll overs i just think you need to import a more high res .png of the ball it looks too distorted when it comes in. Really good job for your first flash site make those changes and get over to my post and help me make some realistic water. :smirk:

i really like the design so far... about the scrollbar... i think it is just too clean or straight, it's a clean rectangle. maybe you could make a more destructed look. i think that maybe solves your scrollbar problem... it will for me :lol:

Thanks again for the feedback everyone. I'm going to rough up the edges and scrollbar to match the site a little more and hopefully it will be closer to being finished.
