This is probably a dumb question and I didn’t know what section to post this in but is there a way to chance the leading/kerning in Microsoft Word? Is leading the space between each letter or between each word? Thanks in advance.

Format --> Font --> 2nd tab is called "character spacing" and that's the kerning (spacing between letters).
Format --> Paragraph --> Line spacing is the leading (space between lines). You can choose a standard from the drop down (single, double) or select multiple and alter the number in the box next to it (that says "at").

is there a way to autoformat each line so it lines up with the longest line? or do i have to change the numbers for each line to match up? don’t know if that makes sense.
ex:
aaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaa
Want to make every line the same length

That's a formatting alignment tool. The same buttons that allow you to right justify or center justify your text? There is one in there that looks like:
______
______
______
______
Bad example but you'll see it - it's in the same tool bar as the center/right justify tool.
It's not always easy to work with and it doesnt' work EXACTLY but it will get you close.
