I have a question, if you guys know... about how much space does the forum take, and what is the monthly transfer?
the reason I ask this is because I'm going to start my own forum (about something completely different than this) and I just want to know what REALLY HIGH expectations would be (if I can get my forum as popular as this one, it'd be awesome, but i wish!)

I'd ask the man himself :ub: , but he's writing a paper.... :nerd: :)

he's the one you would have to ask. We don't have access to the bandwidth logs. If you can get something this popular you should be fine as long as you have a decent bandwidth allotment from your server...

Hey lava!
The forums only take up about 2 MB of space. The mySQL database, which is usually on a separate server, depends on the number of posts the forum has. The mySQL database for this forum took about 170MB. The monthly transfer is about 70-90GB (varies).

Well, here is the thing, you probably won't be using that much bandwidth initially anyway. Also, the mySQL database does not figure in with the total space your site takes up - so that's good :)

right now u get a free domain name too if you sign up for a year.. which is really cool... i got all the stuff i wanted for what.. like 96 bucks.. and thats a hell of a deal.
