[ Photography Showcase Site ]

Well finally after about 2 years creating a million different sites to use iv finally come up with one that I feel is starting to work and one that I hope will keep me interested in to get it offically launched.

Its nothing special yet, basicly the site is just going to be a showcase of my photography and also a tech news blog, but there may be future developments.

At the moment its just a photoshop image/jpg image it hasnt been sliced or anything as yet. I also havnt done the navigation as youll notice when you look at the screenshot. And also its not going to be called B3NKobe as it is in the header, im yet to make a name for it.

So rip it to shreds, I dont care how bad your crits are, as iv dished out some pretty harsh crits in the past...Cheers Ben :D:D

Thanks Mate :D -- Yeah im going to play around with the transperant box as im also going to build a small navigation up there as well.

As for the background, Im yet to play with that, I will try experiment with a dark bg along with a tiled pattern bg maybe.

Simple and nice. I do think there's an overuse of dark colors. The pixel logo B3NKobe looks Ok, but could have much better improvements, e.g., additional colors, some elements (arrows, lines, etc., to your taste). Try to experiment and use a 45" pixel grid or something like this, you know. At the moment, the header looks boring and amateurish. Photos can be used with better frames or even, Outer Glow feature, so that to mark them out from the dark background. If you'd like to use Outer Glow, use light colors. And the last one but not the less important thing: I think the text is too tightened. Use some more space + good alignment. Overall, very nice beginning. Keep up coming. ;)

Clean, easy to use, your name is kinda hard to read at the top though and I'd increase the font beneath it.

@Tommy_S: The pixel logo of B3NKobe, wont actually be there, that is where the site name will go, its just I havnt thought of a site name yet, ill also use another font, I will play around with the header a bit more, I still have a navigation to add into there somewhere. As for the text alignment, I will fix that issue up when I have sliced the site. Thanks for the comments :D:D

@RabBell: Like I said a few lines up, the font of my name wont be used, :lol: ahh the bare chested guy, well thats just a photo of some adertisements from melbourne and I just cropped the image to fit, it will be changed once more development is done. Also thanks for your nice comments :D:D

i'd stick with the white background. i feel like white presents photography a lot better than black. instead of using a white transparent box, i'd put your name/logo above everything (not in a box, just text); it would help it to stand out more. put copyright info at bottom.

i like it but i wouldnt use straight white or black for the bg, maybe grey with a grid style pattern

@intrudah: Thanks also for your comments, I was playing around with it last night and made the background a darkish red, with scan lines, doesnt look too bad, will post an update of it in a few hours when I get home. :D:D
