I just did the math on the engagement rings for me and Cayenne...

for me to actually afford the rings, and "the surprise"...

I need to stop smoking.. as of tomorrow...

I already sold my laptop just to have enough cash...

everyone should quit smoking. you should have quit smoking after your first cigarrette. Better yet, you should have quit before it, by smoking one, and then using a time machine to go back and stop yourself from smoking it.

I meant to say : Good luck with the rings and all that. I hope everything goes well, and I'm glad you've found a worthwhile way to kick a very nasty habit.

He sold it for a ring for his g/f. Personally I would rather my g/f were happy than have a lap top. :)

Adam Ferrara said it best: "Women, your happiness is important to us men... because when you're happy, you let us touch you."

Dude, Laptop's aren't THAT great. They're just a crappy desktop that can be moved around

What they should be doing it making Pc's that move and have a mini 802.11B network to connect to while you carry around a small less expensive add-on (LCD and a keyboard, couple hundred, instead of buying a laptop, couple thousand.)

And Jubba, congrats on the new peanutbutter.

Laptop vs. Ring

Hmm. Do rings really make girls happy??? :x I say, "Change tradition by exchanging laptops instead of rings." Much more practical and fun. :P

This is creepy, I'm getting strong deja vu here... Like I've seen this conversation / thread before... :)

Personally, if my other half bought be a laptop, I'd be thrilled. I would also be thrilled if he bought me a ring. It's the thought that matters to me. :)

hey, why dont girls propose to guys? Theoretically I would, as long as I thought that he'd say yes. :)

I think it's something to do with the fact that men know most women would like to get married so it's pretty safe asking them, but the women aren't sure if the men want to, so we daren't ask in case the bloke runs off screaming. :)

Yeah.. I agree... It's alot easier for a guy to ask a gurl than the other way around... The gurls answers are better and smoother..

What would you do as a guy...

** BRain Thinking **
Ohh man she popped the big question.. What dod I do..

Exactly. You can never quite gauge a blokes' reaction to this. :)

Although I had one really weird experience at University, where a guy left a note and a ring in my post box. No name, no idea who it was from. That spooked me a bit. I mean what on earth do you do about that? :smirk:

Hehehe, nice said.

Yeah, I think you could have kept the laptop if you didn't smoke. I mean, let's do the math for this. I think a pack of smokes is about 4 Euros over here (I'm not sure, 'cause I don't smoke, but let us assume). 4 Euros a week, during let's say 3 years... hm... I'll stop here, I'm not cruel. ;)

Good luck with the rings. And I'm not amazed that you sold your laptop for your girlfriend (even though I don't know if *that* makes her happy). Love is somethin' strange... *sigh* :P
