Envelope Icons...

I'm just curious. Next to all the threads on the left are envelopes...some have "stink lines" :q: and my other "Pretty Cool..." thread had some thingy on the envelope...? Do these have secret meanings to those that are members of some secret Kirupa society?

Please help me cure my curiosity...thanks :)

The ones with the "stink lines" which are actually heat waves stands for Hot topics. Hot topics being things that got a certain number posts... maybe in a certain period of time, not sure, but I noticed they have more than 10 posts in them.

The red envelopes with the yellow paper inside stands for recently created hot topics.

The white envelope with the yellow paper inside stands for recently created thread.

The white envelope alone stands for regular thread.

hehe. The hot threads have more than 10 posts or 150 views ;)

There is a legend for envelope icons at the bottom of the sections. If you go into Random you can see it just under where the list of threads are. Just saw that there so I was going by what I knew... but now I know more :crazy:
