Site of the Week (March 4th - March 11th)

If you wish to be considered for this week, please read the summary of rules:

1) Reply by the end of March 11th to be considered for this week's award.

2) Include the URL and your email address.

Only the webmaster/creator of the site can submit.

Only one submission per person per week.

Submissions are capped at 10 entries each week, so don't wait or hesitate until the last minute. Entries beyond the 10 entry limit will not be eligible for the SOTW for that particular week.

Include a brief synopsis of your site inluding its purpose, or maybe some features you wouldn't want anyone to miss.

3) Your site does not have to be full Flash to be eligible. Whilst you still must employ Flash to some extent, we are also looking for the overall design and usability of your site, not just your Flash skills.

4) While it is understood that sites are perpetually under construction, please submit only complete sites. Do not submit a site that is less than 80% finished.

5) Submissions must be actual websites with sections and content. Examples of ineligible include (but not limited to) flash games, movies, etc.

6) There will be a private poll among the moderators and a winner will be announced.

7) No critiques or feedback is allowed in the submission thread. If you wish a concentrated critique of your site, you may start a thread in Site Check. However, mod critiques will be posted when a winner has been selected.

For more information or questions, please refer to the Official SOTW Rules. Once you have read and understand the rules above, you may submit your site to this thread. Sites not adhering to the rules above will be disqualified and deleted. Submitting your site is an agreement and acceptance of the rules.

for a major pharmaceutical group in portugual.

My main objective was to attempt to approach this corporate site with a fresher design compared to what we ususally see in the pharma industry.

Built using: Flash, php, mysql, xml, swift3d, photoshop

This is my first time submitting a site of the week... !! Quite exciting really lol, ok, about my site.

I created it in flash/photoshop, and it took about 2 weeks to complete, its my first ever flash website, and it turned out ok i think. It promotes myself and my work that i have done in, print, web and coming soon is my multimedia work

The site is currently optimized for IE explorer 5.5+
Cross-browser compatibility was unfortunately not part of the scope of this release per client's request and because budget and time constraints. sorry firefox fans we'll be releasing compatible versions soon. :to:

What can I say - this is a great site, but the competition was just a bit better. I still believe you should change your font in the scrolling text fields to better match the font on the rest of your site.

Really nice site. The site seemed a bit too disjointed for me, but overall, the graphics and font styles are excellent.

Wow - brilliant site. Some of the stuff such as the image of the female face does not fit with your animation though. The design also looks too template-like, even though you may have developed it on your own.

The splash image is not very stunning. I also don't think the purple and brownish background fit well. Besides that, with experience, your design will improve. A lot of the qualms I have are just minor issues that can be fixed by spending some more time on the details that I and other judges may look at. For example, some of the fonts seem out of place.

I checked your site last week and a few days ago, and either I couldn't get the page to load or I received a bandwidth limit exceeded message. You may want to post your site in Showcase and Critiques and I (kirupa) will try to give you some opinions.

Not a bad site, but I don't see why you've used flash for this. Apart from a tiny little animation on the header and some very subtle transitions, I think that HTML would have been a better medium for this.

The splash animation wasn't very stunning, but the 3d logo exploding into tiny dots was very good though! There seems to be an excess use of 3D, and that detracts from your overall animation. You may also want to work on having your colors and background blend more nicely.

Having a full screen pop-up appear without warning is a BIG detractor for me. Some of the navigation is also very confusing. The average viewer will not know, for example, to drag and drop one of your works into the empty area to see a larger version. You need to work on the usability of your site.
