Does anyone really care about this award show? Some how I dont think it will come anywhere near to how good the Americian VMAs are. What's your opinion?

It will never be as good as the VMAs in the US. We have the same local groups and signrs everytime, it gets boring and everyone just keeps talking about Delta, Missy Higgins. Like it ok but Im always into new fresh artists. You look at how the American show is presented, everything from the lighting to the artists are superb. Just look at how we started our "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". I watched nearly every single one of the US version and i wont even bother watching a local one.

The VMA's aren't until August, right? ...er, at least here. I do watch it but really don't care much for it... besides, it's not even a real award. :trout:

I think Skinny_T and MINIMALISTIK. were talking about the Australian Video Music Awards.

I do agree with you MINIMALISTIK. that it does get boring seeing the same artists and well Aussie Awards shows are rather dodgy. I also agree with him on the 'Queer Eye For The Straight Guy' stuff up.

One thing that i can say is that there is a whole heap of new Australian artists coming through. Little Birdy, Eskimo Joe, Sarah Blasko just to name a few (notice the exclusion on Jet ... in my opinion they arent that good). This new breed of Aussie artist are world class and well if a decent show could be put on then I think the AVMAs could be a success.

Yeah, I agree, I'm not a huge fan of the osbornes so I'm not that thrilled that they're hosting. But I hope it does go well because that way the emerging artist will be able to show a (hopefully world wide) group of people how diverse and excellent australian music really is.

Well they weren't as bad as I thought there were gonna be. The Osbournes did a terrible job of hosting (in my opinion). I favourite bit would probably have to be Carmen doing her thing. And suprisingly enough I was more turned off by Anna-Nicole's ***** than I expected.

Half of the names they got wrong, surely MTV could have found someone better.
