View Full Version : Bitmaps in Flash?? #&@&!@

I am ready to kill; myself because i cannot figure out why my bitmap images look like *&^()*& in Flash! I do a web save in Photoshop 7 as png files..

I aslo change the properties of thge image in flash and it looks bad..

Someone please tell me, what's up.. I see beautiful images all over Flash websites...! #$&^*(!

I have read quite a bit on bitmpas in Flash and I can't seem to get a bitmap to look smooth and clean in flash.

I have experience building graphics for web, and I have applied those techniques during creation on the image files.

i checked out the beehive section and it was empty...

is it just me?

whenever i make an image that is going into flash i just make sure to change the property setting in the library...

because sometimes its defaulted wrong..:)

I think the main problem is because you've got bitmap files and Flash works with vectors.

Have you tried drawing in Illustrator or Freehand? Or another vector based program? That might help. I've experienced degradation in quality when importing bitmaps too. I'm not quite sure how you can get round it, but since I started using Illustrator or just drawing in Flash, it helps.

I understand what your saying.. I'm no0t drawing though I want to be able to use images in my flash movies..
I figured out the issue.

When I preview the movie in Flash it looks horrid. when I load it to the server and the run the flash movie it looks great.

Maybe I am fooling myself, but It seems to look alot better.

i know exactly what you mean with the images...

how do sites like these get beautiful images: Valve (http://www.valvegroup.com/)

Because I can't seem to do it...
