View Full Version : I just found 10.5 GIGS of movies on my HD

I needed to put about 700 megs of stuff on my pos the other day, and it said I was out of space (I have a new 20G hd)...

I finally had the time to search out why I was a good 10 gigs over...

Down in the WINNT/system32/temp folder was almost 11gigs of "The Godfather 2", "BlackHawk Down" and others...

BTW I'm using W2000...

I just put this new HD in a few weeks ago... I have not <u>ever</u> used any kind of sharing software such as kazaa, or anything...

Curious...

I wouldn't want to watch movies on my pos anyway... I have a larger TV 3 feet to the right anyway...

Even then, the movies there... I wouldn't have d/l those if I were a pirate...

Guess I gotta go check my ports... see if I can remember that site... maybe abzoid will read this and post the link.. wink wink...

Rev, looks like your computer was scanned for an open port - one was found and someone just hopped on and started to upload some movies and use it as a dump or a pub. Have you noticed your intenet connection being slow as of late?

no, but I have a big Phat line... 1.5Mbs... Plus, if it were at a time when I wasn't on (when is that?), then I wouldn't notice at all. It was a very strange place to be hidden as well...

It was probably put there on purpose.

It's one of the last places you would look for anything right? At least I know I wouldnt.

It's just some hackers or pubbers - sounds like you need to beef up security a bit though...?

Phunny, but this could have happened thru my g/f computer via the home network as well...

phound that hole last eve. as I was looking at my ports...
