Opinions and Ideas

Hi all

Well this is my first post here, so hello. I think the site is great, im sure I will be coming here alot.

Could I get a few ideas and opinions on the my developing site? This is my pratical project for my degree. Basically I am creating a website based on a football (soccer) cartoon character called AJ. It is aimed for 5-8 year olds and im having such a hard time developing anything for it.

Any ideas or opinions would be great! Cheers

so far everything looks fine... very young looking, bright and simple. However its not really a layout or anything... I dont really know what each part is supposed to be.... The large image: is that going to be developed into a header? Im thinking the blue button-like images will be developed into a menu, other than that there isnt much there, but the ideas are solid.

The dark blue seems an odd color for those buttons, especially compared to the header. The buttons style also seems mismatched, possibly change the header to look more "drawn". If it's for a cartoon character I'd think about placing him in the header also. I like the color choice other than the buttons though. Currently even though I've suggested changes to it my favorite part is the header, but Ryall is right, there's not much to go on here. Hope that helps!

I really like what you got so far, though it looks more like a buisness card ontop of some shapes and text. If that is going to be the layout of the home page why isn't the box with the logo the full length of the page? Or you could do like strat. sugguested and have your character in that blank space on the right. I think the rectangle with the red/orange gradient would be better all red, also why is the welcome text on that and also on the text section the same? Lastly i think the first icon is a book but it could be a slice of cheese, and what is the one with just aj on it?

btw Welcome to the forum! I only been here a little while but its great! And nice start to your site, looking forward to seeing your updated!

Thank you for all your comments! I should have explain a little more about the buttons.

Basically there will be 5 secions to the website: A flash story (lol j_polo9 now you say it the button does look a slice of cheese but it is a book), a flash game section, a soccer skills section with video clips, a download section with wallpapers and printouts for kids to colour in, and a sort of bio section on all the characters. Phew!
Stratification, I do agree with the blue on the buttons. Something is not right with them. When mouse rolls over a button, it changes to a red button.

Anyway I will post more development pics as time goes on. Thank you all again!

Hello all again,

Well I have been working hard to create my menu page for project. I have gone back to the drawing board and created this.
