much more powerful than powerpoint. I used to use Qarbon but I now use Captivate (formerly robodemo).

I wouldn't really call this a new product... It's been around for months, if not more in its Captivate form.

I didn't think so... I've had to use it in school for years, and would've run accross something that big before.

beside... you can't make demos in powerpoint.. Captivate is all about making product demos and training sessions that are flash based. And because its flash based.. you can take it into MX2004 and further customize it there.. its next on my acquistion list.

I would rather use Keynote 2 personally. This does look impressive nonetheless though. Probably for a different purpose.

Yeah Keynote 2 looks sweet, I love those kind of revolving 3D things, they look quality.

omg...tons of people! there's a HUGE market for demonstrations and probably the strongest feature of Captivate: interactive Simulations as well. Software training is an enormous and lucrative market these days and Captivate is a great tool for creating training demos - it's a complete package - i dont work for macromedia, i have started using Captivate a couple weeks ago and i am impressed with it as it feels like a "complete" program - seems like they thought of everything - even the integrated editing tools are intiutive - i have yet to have to consult the hlep docs - everything about the program makes perfect sense.

I saved my company thousands of dollars by implementing online training with captivate. No more irritating calls and need to go show someone how to do something. Just send them a url. Really has its uses.

If you are a user of Flash MX try Envision does a similar job but for a fraction of the price $59.

what i was saying is not that theres no use for it, but that its really boring to build an online software tutorial...the thought of that makes me want to throw up in my mouth...what a crappy gig.

Honestly captivate is rather fun to use. Then you can incorporate it into your other flash movies. You must have not used it.

Well - it wasn't humorous, and this isn't Random. You were temporarily removed from the forums for similar behavior, and I nor the mods will be as forgiving like we were the first time around ;)
