phew - it's taken me ages.

http://www.geocities.com/napierjl/tester.htm

or http://www.geocities.com/napierjl/intro.htm if you want to watch the intro.

this version has the experimental header, the menu rollovers, and finally some preview content! woot woot. (the links aren't up yet so you can keep clicking away on the buttons lol - they just wont do anything yet)

lemme know what you think.

I'd like to see you experiment with a different content font.

Other than that:

The black border seems to detract from it just a little bit - perhaps just a tad skinnier?

I think it has a fresh funky feel to it :)

Yea a different content font would be good and maybe a bit bigger... Also maybe a solid background color, just solid with that red color would probably look nice. I think the header looks great, you stare at it for a moment but then move on to the content. Meaning that its "Awe" power attracts your attention but not so much as to take away from the content. The only other thing is that the menu text is almost too stylistic (<- is that a word?) But it still works really well as is and the rollovers are nice. Overall i think people will be shocked at how good it is when they go there!

i want to have a pixel font for content and that was the only one on my computer lol - i didn't have time to search for a perfect font. (but i will).

for the content background it will be in the colour of the button (ie "home " section will be orange tinge, "about" section will be reddish tinge etc). and i'm going to make a monochromatic splash that is on a really low alpha.

jpolo: stylistic? lol any other english words you could use to describe what you mean? believe it or not i actually made the menu text myself. i dont want to use the alba font that i have used in the header because then it will look waaay overused.

prstudio: it's hard to reduce the black border in the actual flash file but i will see what i can do with the gif's that surround the swf..

thanks,

Yea i figured you made it yourself, lol not because it looks "home-made" but just because it looks one of a kind. Stylistic, i just mean it is like a themed font that goes really well with your site, it just seems a bit too jagged and Flinstone-ey lol. But since i figured it was hand made and would probably take a lot of effort to change i think it is great just how it is.

thanks jesse, i'll smooth out the menu text to make it look better cos i agree it does look flinstone-esque.

i was originally going with the whole jagged rock-boulder look but now it's transformed into a funky different style that i hadn't predicted (which i love btw). i'll keep the black border jagged like it is only cos i cant be stuffed doing otherwise (plus it creates some interesting detail.)

i think i liked the way the logo was outlined in the intro better than the 3d streak in the header... i agree with j-polo.. i would put a solid background... it just kinda seems like too many different styles are being used. by the way the intro was designed i though the site would look way different... the background texture also suggests a different style... same with the font choices... i do really like the way the header works... keep it up..
