View Full Version : Am I going in an interesting direction?

Alright so I bet a couple of people helped me out on my half-done-crap site a while back ( www.radioactivechimp.com ). Now am am working in a whole concept. I have just put together a couple of pieces but it is not nearly done. I thank Monsef for the code used.
FYI
1) The white square in the middle is the beginning of the resizing slideshow and the numbers on the side are just temp buttons
2) I am probably not going to keep all of those words lol
3) The pinkish words (ex:CONTACT) will be able to be dragged/thrown onto a hittest spot where it would make the appropriate content play
Argh I am pissed at myself for just putting up this nothingness, but I need to know if I am going into an interesting direction at all. I want this site to be really simple, and just about my art. I know it doesn't look that simple right now, but that's why I call upon you people. Be harsh hehe, don't lie :liar: to make my sorry arse feel better.

It's interesting, to say the least, but the colors don't mesh well and the words are kinda random and out of place... especially when the first word you see is "HATE"
And it would be nice centered. ;)

yeah i just put all those words in there to play with for now lol. Any ideas for better colors? I mean I am "Radioactivechimp" so I think green should be implemented in some way. I want some suggestions :)

It's mostly the pink that drives the eyes nuts.

ok I just wanted to do colors that are not used really. I want some kind of green in there....can you think of any other good combonations including green? I want the site to be soft and inviting lol not grungy or futuristic

do high contract....maybe black and white and introduce your green as a highlight color. I think it is an ok concept just play with your colors a bit....looking again I think black and white would be good....

Meaning the background is black or the text? I think the background should be black, green on white just hurts the eyes.

I like your first link. But Maybe something along the lines of non-beveled images?

Heh, no one knew it existed.
It tends to glitch around sometimes... it seems way too rotation-happy.

yeah it only gliches a lot because there are too many on screen. I am trying to work out the spinning problem though

There was a really nice one back a whiles ago on yugop.

i want to give the site kind of a wide open space/infinite space, but i am not sure how to attack this, maybe have when you throw the words off screen, then end up on the other side?

well first off you've gotta center the movie... not a very wide open look if it's restricted by borders on two sides already. ;)
Also, see if you can get the movie to resize to fit the whole browser without scaling. It's possible in flash.
Then tackle the looping thing, and it should like real spiffy. :thumb:
PS. Yugop link for anyone who's wondering: http://yugop.com/ver3/index.asp?id=17

PS. I think it's just me and you on this thread lol
I am gonna get rid of all the words that are not going to do anything (keep just the pink ones). I will post a version without all the other words and you can see if it runs faster or not

lol I think so.
Well, it's not lagging with all the other words on there for me. It's mainly just that rotational thing that really makes it seem all glitchy.

Arg I don't know what to do. DO you think it will need to be Photoshoped spiffy in the end or will it be ok so flat?
GW02
January 2nd, 2005, 06:28 PM
I think it'll be just fine flat, but that's just me.
