i'm using a PC and it all looks fine to me. i think the site needs a little more spicing up if you're not completely done.

i think you need to speed up the animations(intro and transitions).

maybe add more shades of red.

maybe decrease the amount of sections. seems like you don't have enough content for all those(yet).

Ok..that makes sense. Well, the speed of the animation, hmm...I already worked out the publish settings and set the frame rate @ 40. About the colors you're definitely right, I tried that though and I'm being told by other PC users that they see different colors from the ones I put...incompatibility problems. Do you know how to get around that? The sections # are ok, just waiting for all the stuff to put up! (Videos, pics, ecc). I got all the details done but just put up three of them as example..
Thanks for your support man

oh man I hate sites that resize my browser window. What's even more annoying is when they resize it but not to the correct size. I couldn't see the last few sentences of the content in the top half of the page because they were cut off.

I'm using a Mac and I think the animations also need to be faster.

Incompatability problems between PC and Mac's (especially in colours) as far as I know, there is no way around it. Man I wish there was.

But I think you're site looks ok but if I was to be harsh I can't see why you made it a flash site. The opening animation and transitions are fairly standard to be honest so I don't think they add anything to the site and if you were to remove these, I think the whole site could be done as html.

I see you are a flash rookie and I know with things like animations and transitions you'll get better but sometimes developers (especially rookies) are eager to get into flash they use it when it's not needed and I don't think you're site needs it to be honest. If you're gonna use it I'd change the design because at the moment it looks like a HTML site that's been done in Flash.

Gotta say though if this is your first flash site...it's a good attempt.

hope this helps :thumb:

Incompatability problems between PC and Mac's (especially in colours) as far as I know, there is no way around it. Man I wish there was.

Hardware color calibrators fix this issue. I use both Mac and PeeCee and I have no color issues between the two.

Ok... the site... well the animations seem slow. Don't really need to adjust the frame rate just the tween lengths. The animations themselves are kinda weak, they spin then zoom... but there isn't really anything dynamic about the way they do it.

Site is pretty bland... could use some color variations, maybe different shades of red or something.

I wanted to shoot myself when my browser window resized itself. That's a horrid script, you should make the site either go to fullscreen (which not many ppl like either) or just leave it alone. Unless it's a popup then there is no need to resize.

Fonts are too big... make them standard screen size. It could make your whole site look better.

The music section... the sound... horrid, and it makes no sense.

The navigation is so simple you may as well turn it into html instead of wasting resources using flash. This also goes w/ the whole site in general, there is no need to use framesets at all... make one flash movie or make it html. Get rid of those framesets.

thanks everybody for the suggestions- really appreciated.
I'm working hard on learning Flash programming and the purpose of this first site is to improve my basic skills, so instead of doing another HTML site I'd like to improve my flashing but thanks for your critiques.
Just a couple of things:

SIMPLISTIK: Hardware color calibrators fix this issue. I use both Mac and PeeCee and I have no color issues between the two.

Can you please be more specific and give me a name for those softwares? I'd like to try out one of them :-)

SIMPLISTIK: The music section... the sound... horrid, and it makes no sense.

Why are you saying this? Horrid>!?? lol... I just put two simple sound FX and they seem ok to me. I guess it's a matter of taste. but hey, relax man.

BTW, your site www.beyondthepixel.com doesn't seem to work, and doesn't even open with IE. Is it coming soon or do I have the wrong URL ?

thanks

i think the site contect has to be thought about, i mean on the header the title is the same font and i generally think its too big with too much of it in that one area
