I want to chrome out this guitar but can't rasterize it with the lighting effect. Obviously different than text, how to I go about it... the steps I'm using are as follows:
background
layer with guitar
select guitar
add channel
fill channel
blur guassian at 10,5,2.5,1.3
and then
select the layer. but it's not allowing me to go to lighting effect under render....

thankee sai!
If only there was a way to use the filter lighting effect on an image.... it must have something to do with rasterizing it...
enquiring minds don't know... atleast I dunno.

I don't know why, but the bg made a huge diff on this one...
I even tried to monkey with the lighting, smoothness, etc...
no dice...
hope the white works...

i was just about to say, after the first response, that the real diff is just the background. Black really sets off silver/chrome.
edit: and looks better, because of it

It looks wonky with the black bg, I think, cause the reflections are of a daytime scene of the sky. Our eyes just find it 'wrong' if we see something chrome, reflecting a bright sunny sky, but surrounded in blackness. Marius' example with the chrome text looks good because the reflections are just of some black stuff. Is there any way to choose which image your plugin uses for the reflections, Rev?
